AQuMed - Agency for Quality in Medicine

The Agency for Quality in Medicine (AQuMed) was founded in March 1995 as a joint institution of the German Medical Association (GMA) and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (NASHIP).

Main objectives

  • Co-ordination of the nation-wide statutory function of the State Medical Associations in the field of quality-assurance
  • Development and implementation of quality-assurance within the medical profession
  • Effective co-operation between sickness funds and hospital associations to fulfil their legal tasks.
Federal Association of the AOK

The AOK SHI fund cares for roughly 26,5 million people - a third of the German population. Its Federal Association developes proposals for ensuring quality and efficiency in health care.

Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung

Das Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB) ist ein sozialwissenschaftliches Forschungsinstitut. 140 deutsche und ausländische Wissenschaftler betreiben hier problemorientierte Grundlagenforschung.
